Alas, the only thing I have been doing is building my fuselage......with a
little avionics stuff thrown in to keep it interesting.

Well, my newest toy arrived today. I am trying my best to have redundant
glass instruments at a reasonable price in my RV. Well, this one takes the
place of the attitude indicator, altimeter, VSI, DG, compass, turn
coordinator, skid ball and voltmeter. Thrown in for good measure are angle
of attack, checklists, g-meter, clock and timer.

I have only had once chance to ever play with a flight director. This is
the closest I will ever come to owning one on a beer budget. The buttons on
the bottom take you other menus with the remaining buttons asking you what
you want to do. It is neat as can be. My unit was #345 so these things are
selling like hotcakes. There are numerous people on the RVlist flying with
them and report great success.

Here we go.

This one is level flight right out of the box

This one is a 10 degree descending right turn

The above two pics were with a flash to show just how bright the screen is
in bright light.

This one with room lighting with no flash

One of the neatest things is the quick ability to set this unit to meet the
flying characteristics of individual airplanes. The attitude indicator can
be adjusted in flight to compensate for level flight that day, ie., weight.
Bugs are easily set for headings, altitudes. You can declutter, add do
anything you need. This thing is way too cool..............and it works!!
