Dana forwarded something on LED nav lights a few weeks ago. While they were originally designed for RVs, the guy also made some generic ones for the rest of us. He offers them assembled or as a kit. I bought a kit for $125, and will install them in my wingtips one of these days. Power consumption is a tiny fraction of what incandecents use, which is why they appeal to me.
