There was a recent thread on the CorvAircraft list that was started by a guy with a Corvair engine. The only nearby airport required liability insurance on the plane before he could hangar it there, and since his plane has Corvair he couldn't get liability anywhere. Pat Panzera of Contact! magazine and William Wynne (aka "the Corvair Authority") are working to prove the Corvair's safe record to the insurance industry, but until they do, it's kinda iffy...
