You can try a/c spruce, it's the same stuff they sell to model a/c builders too. You can also look at http://www.towerhobbies.com/ and they sell a 44" "T" bar also. The roll length is 5 yds. so you can make or buy alum. angle or tee to suit. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cmpages/sandblocks.php Good luck Tony Ray -----Original Message----- From: Bobby Muse [mailto:bm...@ev1.net] Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2003 10:46 AM To: KR builders and pilots Subject: Re: KR>Source for long sandpaper strips
Just build a long(as needed) straight sanding block. I used two pieces of oak screw&glued together to form a 'T'. Then go to your local hardware store and buy a long(as needed) piece of non-skid(peel & stick) strip used as safety traction strips on concrete/metal stairs. The non-skid strip acts as about a 50 grit sandpaper. I work at Home Depot and we sell the non-skid strips by the foot and they come 1", 2" and 4" wide.
