Just build a long(as needed) straight sanding block. I used two pieces of oak screw&glued together to form a 'T'. Then go to your local hardware store and buy a long(as needed) piece of non-skid(peel & stick) strip used as safety traction strips on concrete/metal stairs. The non-skid strip acts as about a 50 grit sandpaper. I work at Home Depot and we sell the non-skid strips by the foot and they come 1", 2" and 4" wide.
