You are making it too hard.

Just weld a standard 3/8" Hex nut to a small steel plate, drill several
holes in the plate, drill a 3/8" hole in the lower main spar at the desired
location, push a waxed 3/8" eye bolt into the hole and screw into the "Hex
nut" , epoxy with flox the "Hex nut and plate in place.  After the epoxy
dries, remove the eye bolt and reinsert whenever you want.
