For another easy to build option on landing light covers go to
Mark's L.'s site, scroll down to "projects" , click on my name
(Larry Flesner) and go down to picture number 7. The lenses
fit flush with the wing skin all around when the lenses are
installed. The lenses are held in place with four tapered, flat
top screws that are also flush with the wing skin. The nuts are
buried in the mounting ridge. The mounting ridge is very simple
to fabricate and if anyone is interested I'll give the details. I have
one light on each wing and one will be adjusted for taxi and the
other for landing. The lights (not shown) are from Auto Zone and
are self contained units that have a swivel mount on the bottom.
They will mount to the alum strip you see in the picture and are
adjustable both up and down and side-to-side.
