I am kind of thinking that if I do buy it, it would just be for the parts such as 2 Great Plains engines landing gear, canopy, wing attach fittings, cowling, controls such as bell cranks etc. There is enough value there for those items and anything else I could salvage would be gravy. i.e like maybe the fuselage but if not just plan to build all that from scratch. It is NOT recommended to buy a project under construction without a builders log. The thing is you have to prove that 51% of the airplane by amateurs and without a log there's no way to prove. From what I've heard Canada has a much more stringent process. My opinion, do not buy it without a builders log. You're buying nothing but a problem. I want to import this project into Canada and our inspections require a pre cover (before box spars etc,are closed in) . What I am wondering is if I might find a number or something that shows it was done in the U.S . In Canada each component is stamped or stickered to show it has been done. The project is fairly complete all spars are closed, wings closed etc.although it would still meet 51% requirement here in Canada. I f I can show the inspections I an import as parts and then continue it. Any thoughts about this?
