For now, all I'm putting in is a BIG speed brake. I'm keeping my options open 
though. I decided is when Rob once said. " Keep it simple and get it done"

Unless you will be flying from very short runways, lift producing 
flaps are not necessary.? However, drag for the landing approach is 
critical , IMHO.? If you want flaps, build them to produce drag also 
for the landing approach.? A simple speed brake will suffice for 
drag.? There really is no need to try to combine the two unless you 
are looking for an aeronautical / mechanical challenge.? 600 hour 
with speed brake only.
