KR> Center Foward Spar Dimension

I apologize in advance if this information is in here somewhere but I have 
searched and was unable to find it.The spruce sent to me for the forward center 
spar caps per the kr2s cut list is 2"x 1 1/4".? To be laminated to make a cap 
that is 2" thick and 2 5/32" wide per the plans. The only way I see to get 
these dimensions is to have a vertical laminate joint. What Ive seen from 
everyone else on their build logs is horizontal joints. My question then is, 
what has everyone else done here?
