Chris; Looking at the drawing of the hinge setup using a section of angle, I don't see how the aileron gets very much downward travel. It looks like the aileron hinge half hits the end of the metal angle, but even if it doesn't, the ends of the two bolts will hit each other before the aileron deflects very much. Now I realize that a KR doesn't need much aileron travel, but this would require a bit of study to see how much down travel is possible with it the way it's shown.
