My personal experience is that some gauges or indicators like trim position, 
fuel level or flap position or the one you name are more comfortable to be read 
using led-bars...on the other hand RMP gauge I would prefer it with numbers...

Need some insight

I am putting an oxygen sensor in the Smith.  I am leaning (no pun intended)
twords the LED bar meter because I think it would require less thought.  Just
pull the mixture until you're in the green.  Any real reason to have numbers or
a needle gauge?
