After a lot of careful consideration I decided to use a Collins vhf 251. Not to heavy and plentiful. I picked 2 for a couple hundred. Slide in and out. Had them both checked and are in great shape. Small panel space needed. For a gps I picked up a King AV8OR Ace. When first released they sold for over $2k. I got mine with card and accessories for $400 new in the box. Lots of features. With technology changing every other day any thing new you buy will be outdated before you fly your KR. Keep it simple where you can.
