The important thing to remember when using flexible cables is to secure the sheath so it does not move when the inner cable is pushed / pulled. Also, oil it well on install and each year on the annual inspection. It doesn't take much motion of the outer sheath to cause the movement of he inner wire to be erratic and unreliable.
