I used the "lawn mower" push pull cables  on my throttle using the 
"wire grips" (see below) and they work great.  You can attach a rod 
end bearing or a fork on the ends.  I used 4 in my throttle run, 
throttle handle, carb, and two at the reversing arm.  My left mounted 
throttle assembly (see panel photo below) is a dual lever assembly 
with friction lock and one handle removed, the long handle shortened, 
and a section of mop handle added as a hand hold, P51 style.  Works 
great.  Zoom in on the carb photo to see wire grip, rod end bearing, 
and wood washer to prevent a disconnect in case of bearing 
failure.  The red knob on the panel is the locking mixture control 
and the black knob is carb heat.
