Chris and all, Having the front deck removable is absolutely one of the best modifications you can do to your KR. After 469 hours of flight I can assure you it does not affect structural strength. My KR has even gone as far as hitting a deer on landing at 70mph and there was no twisting or cracks or damage anywhere around the upper or lower longerons, firewall, fuselage sides or floor of the immediate area behind the firewall.
