It is not TSO'd. I don't intend to do anything for some time as the end solution is still in a state of flux. The manufacturer says they are working on a TSO "upgrade" kit which will consist of: 1) An FAA approved high $$$ WAAS GPS puck (should that be necessary to comply) to replace the non-TSO'd WAAS gps puck currently installed, 2)a permanent mount UAT out antenna to replace the suction cup/zip tie mounted antenna, and 3)a software update that essentially amounts to setting a bit in the code to report to the FAA that the unit now meets TSO standards.
Should I still be flying in 2020, I'll deal with what I need to deal with then, which may very well be that I will make no changes. For today, I am enjoying the benefits of better situational traffic awareness and in flight weather. That isn't going to go away in 2020. Additionally, I also know the big boys (and others) with ADS-B traffic on board know where I am when I am flying in mixed traffic. One of the first things you notice when you start flying with ADS-B traffic is how much traffic is near-by that you never noticed before. -Jeff Scott Los Alamos, NM > > Jeff, is this system certified yet or what are you going to have to do to get > a certified? > > Paul Visk > Belleville Il > 618-406-4705
