I found several photos detailing the hinge joint installation, and have put them near the bottom of http://www.n56ml.com/cowling.html. Looking at the time stamps on the pictures, this process took me four hours from start to finish to fasten the hinges to the top of the cowling (judging from the photo timestamps). It went somewhat faster on the bottom because the location was predetermined. Something I've learned since then is to use the narrowest hinges available to save weight. They'll be fine...
