My earlier (month or two ago) concern about possible Santa Ana conditions in early September were totally without justification, it turns out. Weather couldn't be nicer. Days are cooler than is typical for this time of year, mid-to high 80's and it doesn't even get that high until later in the day thanks to the marine layer hanging on the coast and slightly inland. Nights call for a light sweater or jacket. Mother Nature is doing her best to make it comfortable for attendees. Steve has to be psychic to have guessed the weather would be this nice.
It's 11 AM on Saturday morning and I need to get to the airport and put my prop on properly and do a balance and then it's a grueling 40 minute flight to Chino. I'll be in this afternoon sometime with my prop balancing equipment. I'll also be back tomorrow. I think Sparky is coming in tomorrow morning. Builders: Don't overlook wiring your wings for position lights and strobes. And put in instrument lighting and a beacon, either on the tail or under or on top of the aft fuselage. As Mark has mentioned last post, having to worry about running out of daylight puts a severe restriction on any distance flying.
