I don't normally comment on these things, but Mark L said it was okay if there was something positive to add. Hopefully this qualifies. Before I get into it, I want to commend Steve for all of the efforts he has and is making for the KR community.
Having said that, from a business standpoint, keeping customers informed is pretty important [I'd rather give you bad news early than ignore you and hope it doesn't bite me later]. It would also be helpful to understand the customer's perspective - the new guys/gals never had to deal with the 'old' RR and have no clue as to what everyone considers "normal". As a suggestion, we all hate/love auto responders (out of office message) but it takes about 10 minutes to set one up with "rules" in outlook and I imagine Firefox, Gmail, and others are the same; it might go something like - "Thanks for your note - we are out of plans at the moment but I should have more soon (or put in a date if you know when). I am really up to my ears setting up the Gathering this year so everything is taking a little longer, please bear with me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for your business and I will be in touch soon. Steve" I haven't been to Steve's site so don't know how his 'contact us' feature is set up, but it is not a problem to set up a responder based on the category selected. Many times you don't have to provide an immediate response to any category other than.... well, 'other'. Don't know if this will soothe any hard feelings or smooth ruffled feathers, but is my two cents (for what that's worth).
