I thought it was a perfectly reasonable question. If I had ordered something from a company I had no prior relation with, and heard nothing for three weeks, I'd start asking questions too.

TK, I think the Better Business Bureau would be the approximate equivalent to your Consumer Affairs. In the US, the Attorney General is a lawyer, but you are correct that this is a section of the gov't.
