Here is a picture of the right main wheel on my KR-2. The axel center is at 17.0 inches aft from the stub wing leading edge. CG with me on board and full fuel is 12.6 inches from the stub wing leading edge. I am making a bracket to https://s3.amazonaws.com/expercraft/sidwood/9261150634548046811dd7.jpg

I managed to generate several oil leaks with my installing this oil system. Leaks were at the crank case sump seals for the side drain casting. Fixed that by throwing away the two gasket seals and instead used RTV gasket maker in a tube. Other leaks were in the half-inch hose fittings at the engine oil gallery and the entrance to the oil cooler; removed and re-installed those fittings. The last leak was difficult to find since I had new oil in the engine and that does not leave much of a trail to see. The prop blows it all over everything. Used the diaper method to finally locate the leak. One of the machining pipe plugs did not have any pipe dope and was loose; that is how it came from Revmaster. Fix was easy: put pipe dope on the plug and re-install tight. Bottom line: Trust, but verify. Now, it's on to fixing the main gear wheel location; needs to be moved 3 inches further aft on my KR-2. Both KR and Diehl plans are silent on this main wheel location dimension. When I acquired my partial project, I called Jeanette and had that serial number transferred to me. If you make up a serial number, it might have already been assigned to someone else's project. Check with Steve, he may be able to transfer it to you. N357CJ main axle center line is 7" behind the main spar and the nose wheel axle is 10" in front of the firewall. I agree that the actual dimension is not in the instructions but this is where it ends up if all the landing gear parts that come with the Deihl kit are used in the instructed configuration. I checked it against the project that I am working on and it is nearly identical even thought the fuselages are very different. I know that yours is a KR2 but the location relative to the spar is always going to be the same. I don't remember that you mentioned the location relative to the spar but only was it related to the weight and balance stations.Joe Horton ____________________________________________________________ NetZero now offers 4G mobile broadband.
