Larry, I'm trying my utmost to turn my KR2 into what I want. No, I don't need a bundu basher, she'll be hangared at a proper airfield all of the time. I can afford hangerage else I won't fly. But seeing what these flaps did for the MCR4, I am giving it some serious thought. And it cannot be all that difficult to make. I have never seen the construction of this, but I have a good idea on how to go about it,.
Like Mark said, the lighter & slower, the safer. When I'm done with everything else, I'll give this some more thought. Many ultralights have leading edge slats fitted to the leading edge. Construction method should be about the same & all I wanted was for someone to point me to some pics during the creation process. That's what is so fantastic about the KR2, it presents an ideal platform for ideas and that's why so many different versions of it are already flying. My aim is very light, spacious and a very slow stall with no cg problems. Let's wait and see how she turns out in flight. My only reason for the many engine questions was because I could suddenly & unexpectedly almost lay my hands on one & the sudden thought of it looked sooooo attractive for a moment there... Design / installing them will certainly increase the build time. If you're thinking the KR needs Fowler flaps to complete your mission profiles, you probably need to build a different aircraft. A KR does need some drag added for a "comfortable" approach to landing, IMHO. Don't let us on the net beat you down with your questions. Curiosity is a good thing. It's how we learn. Keep the questions coming. You have 600+ opinions to pick from. :-) To answer your question, I've not seen a source for the info you want. Look in the Tony Bingelis books if you have them.
