Have yourself tested for Low Serum Cholinesterase level. It is a simple blood
test and if very low will cause you problems with anesthesia. In particular
anectine, which is one of the drugs commonly used in anesthesia. It is
unusual but everyone in my family has this defect and have been urged to wear
medical alert bracelets in case of accident. Your GP doctor can check this
for you. If you have this problem they can use other meds and completely avoid
the problem making surgery a much better prospect.
