G?day All ? much appreciated the comments from all and I am impressed with the
response. Yes I do have a side hinged canopy and yes I have commenced a
departure run and missed latching the canopy in excitement but after a personal
verbal and very abusive attack on my ability to carry out a proper check list I
think that I have cured that problem. Some days are very hot and it?s a
pleasure to have the canopy open while taxiing. Thank you Mac for the Heads Up
on that one although I was not aware of the incidents. I have an additional
lock device fitted (strap and clip).

Thanks Robert and Mac for the comments on raising the Canopy ? it has given me
some thoughts. It?s raining today so I?ll pull up a chair at the hangar and
give the process some design thought.

Jeff - you must have a bit of Aussie humor in you as you are quite right about
my use of the statement ? not visually stimulating ?. Anyone who flies a KR2
and lands (controlled crash) will definitely have stimulated eye balls. My
reference came about after I flew my KR2 to its new home last week and I was
picked up by my mate and flown back in a low wing Rans S16 that had perfect
visual reference due to the raised seating and canopy. Thanks for the info.
Ben
