I miss the KR resin , you know that thick heavy resin form the 70's . I never
had problems using that stuff like this befre. Aeropoxy is very thin and runny
compared to the KR resin from Rand Robinson.
After dwelling on what I did..........
I had squeegied the excess resin from two opposite directions causing the
fiberglass to mound up away from the foam. I was using one of them Bondo
plastic applicators. The peel ply hid these areas.I know I used the wrong tool
and technique at the end of my work. darn it!

Hrmm.. Without a picture this is a somewhat ambiguous question...
If you have a delamination, you will be able to tell by the sound it makes
when you tap the area with your finger, vs. an area that you think is
good... I know that's not a great explanation...

Also, if you used a slurry mix (you should have)... a concentration of
slurry in one area will appear lighter in the final layup. Most layups I've
seen aren't 100% uniform (light areas and darker areas.)

If you did everything properly, you wouldn't pull the glass from the foam by
pulling the peel ply... and yes, you should be applying the peel ply in the
wet layup. I'm not sure I understand your comment about "too soon".

Where are you located? A good thing to do is find someone relatively close
to you to come check out what you are doing if you are unsure. An extra set
of eyes is always a good thing.

I've looked through some of my pics, and can't seem to find any excellent
pictures showing this, but you can take a look anyway. These are solid
structures...

Note in this one the different shades...
Sorry for the poor picture quality. I'm no photographer.

Help.....I layed up two layers of 5 oz fiberglass and a layer of peel ply on
one side of my elevator last Saturday.Tonight I went to remove the peel ply
material and noticed I have some areas that appear lighter in color . I
think the fiberglass lifted off from the foam in these areas,or it did not
bond to the foam during setup. I also could have applied the peel ply too
soon? During the layup the surface looked wetted out evenly. Is this a
problem area to be concerned about? I might have lifted the fiberglass from
the foam while pulling the peel ply off. It doesn't look like an air pocket.
Any advice would be appreciated.
   Thanks, Joe
