3d printing is surprisingly expensive.  Making molds, is sane.. but best
done with subtractive methods.  Some high density foam, and a cnc router
would make molds quickly.

The materials used for 3d printing is expensive, soft, thermally unstable,
and expensive.  Very expensive.
