If you are interested in working with Kopete - History Plugin, you should first make yourself familiar with Kopete code base. Like Pali said, best way to do that is to contribute in some way to kopete. It does not have to be major change, it can also be as small as documenting a function for fixing a minor bug. At the end of the day the community will select the student who shows most promise. So join the kopete-devel@kde.org mailing list if you have not yet subscribed to it. Keep yourself informed about by reading the mails and get started with hacking Kopete. Send us any doubts or questions that you might have and we will do our best to help you out. All the best!
