I am not sure what level of V4L API is implemented under FreeBSD. Either way, the kernel side is seriously lacking in drivers. So even if all the API was there, you could only access a handful of devices through it. There are a few drivers that support specific webcams and there is a wrapper that should allow some/many/most Linux drivers to build. I have no experience with any of that as I only got my first laptop with a webcam last week. I will be trying to set that up soon and will see how it goes. > Another question would be if libv4l builds on these systems, too.
