There are two types of notifications: knotify displaying a KPassivePopup
(centered in the top of the screen stacking up when new ones appear) and, if
installed, an experimental "Notify" plasmoid replacing these popups.
I'll mark this as a duplicate of bug 159513, which also mentions both issues of
popup placement and popup messages appearing even if the active conversation is
in front (the notify plasmoid is out of kopete's scope).
