Sure you can remap Next and Prev, but that's not the point. Next and Prev are
useless when the rest of the tab-using world offers tab-by-number support. :-)
That they are not enabled by default in Konqueror in some distros is, IMO, a
bug against Konqueror and/or those distros.
A KDE-wide setting would be great, but unlikely to happen until KDE 4. A
usability bug fix for Kopete, though, could potentially squeeze through in the
next KDE 3.5.x bug fix release. Then the 4.x version of Kopete could just drop
that for whatever KDE 4 standardizes on (and it should).
