Hum. I think I understand now how all this is supposed to work.

Probably the best way to fix it would be to add any unknown contact that 
requests authorization to our contact list (at least temporarily), just as if 
he had sent us a message.
After this the authRequested signal can be emitted and caught by the newly 
created correct contact. The function to look at for all this probably would be 
SSIAuthTask::handleAuthRequested.

This would have the additional benefit of the user being able to check the 
other contact's info etc. even if he accidentally clicked away the auth request 
dialog.
