Hi everyone! Glad to see Hilary reached out. Have been talking with her about CERN logos, KiCad activities and ensuring everything is on the up-and-up for donations.
Happy to discuss other ideas on how to fundraise in the future and build community, please feel free to contact me off thread. If there is interest, I'm happy to submit a report on a quarterly basis to the leadership team which is when I'm doing my accounting/donation activities. I also think trademarking is a good idea, though I have no experience with it. Surely there are other FOSS projects we can copy? ~Chris On Wed, Apr 11, 2018 at 4:18 PM Simon Richter <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > On 04/11/2018 01:51 PM, Wayne Stambaugh wrote: > > > We really don't have any legal entity to own the > > trademark so I suspect that is why it has not happened up to this point. > > I'm fine with CERN handling this, but if a legal entity to hold > trademarks is needed, we can also talk to Software in the Public > Interest, who are handling trademarks and assets for Debian and several > other open source projects. > > Simon > > _______________________________________________ > Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kicad-developers > Post to : [email protected] > Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kicad-developers > More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp >
