A majority of participants on the ML found the new icons a step forward and we have a commit. We won’t ever reach a point where we can satisfy everybody, so we must live with the democratic majority. All concerns and inputs raised after the commit are sound, valid and wise and should be considered for V6.
Again I ask, no beg, everybody to get V5 out of the door and not be distracted by minuscule details like icon design. Don’t get me wrong: UI design is IMPORTANT, icon design is ART and KNOWLEDGE, but in the bigger picture of the pile of work that represents the Kicad project as a whole, it is a rather minor feature. I feel this because Kicad is used by technical driven people, who usually don't care that much about aesthetics, as long as the knob gets the job done. My 2 ct.
