Hello Garamando, thank you for providing the good and bad kernel
versions for this. That's exactly what we need to start a kernel bisect
to track this down.

Title:
  new kernel 6.8.0-54  kills audio output realtek ALC3266

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  installed Mint from usb drive, worked perfectly kernel was 6.8.0-51 sound 
device was Realtek ALC3266
  driver HDA-intel PCH at 0xddc28000 irq 150

  updated kernel to 6.8.0-54 no sound only dummy output shows -
  alsa mixer shows card as HDA Intel PCH chip Realtek Generic, mixer bars show 
output, but no audio from speakers or headphones

  I am currently using 0-51 kernel as I write this. I will reboot with new 
kernel and get debug outputs using commands you suggest below 
  I have reproduced this bug 3 times by reinstalling the original linux mint 
package, and updating the kernel and losing sound.

  computer is dell product:0w7v82  ver:A01  which is Dell Precision 5510
