That worked for a short 24 hours. Then this morning, I got an update for my nvidia drivers. After I upgraded the drivers, I could no longer boot into ubuntu with kernel 4.4.0-45-generic. If I booted with kernel 4.4.0-31-generic, I no longer had an issue.
