Expected behaviour: after max. 1-2 minutes, the prompt to enter the disk encryption passphrase should appear. Workaround: while still in grub, enter the advanced options and boot kernel version 3.8.0-19, which shows expected behaviour. The bug seems to appear with kernel version 3.8.0-29; kernel version 3.8.0-19 works. Both vanilla Ubuntu 13.04 and Xubuntu 13.04 are affected. The workaround works for both Ubuntu variants.
