I can't really weigh in on the more technical merits or problems. So here's my take on the practical implications: For me as a project maintainer, having snapcraft and flatpak files in the repo seems like a good thing. Not only does this enable a more direct integration with CI, but it may enable more direct communication between snap/flatpak authors and project maintainers. Cheers, Johannes
