Sane email clients will do the right thing. Thunderbird for example displays a "Reply list" button: https://i.imgur.com/hQ525ul.png
(Aside to the aside: I hope we can move to Discourse soon so that the people who prefer a forum-style experience can use the web interface, and the people who prefer a mailing list style experience can use the email interface.)
