Sorry for the late reply. Crazy week. Since these are just straight ports of the old tutorials, they're also targeted at newbies as well. The notes are there because I wanted to run the code by more experienced developers to check if I missed something or got something wrong. In the final version, they should probably be gone, though I'm also of the mind to put them somewhere in an appendix of sorts.
