There is a discussion going on about how Wayland will be handling screen locking:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/wayland-devel/2011-April/000874.html However, from the discussion, I am a little concerned how this would work with, for instance, plasmoids on the screensaver. I don't know the technical details about either Wayland or the plasma screensaver, but just in case there really are such conflicts I thought I should bring it to your attention.
