My personal conclusions is that mainly it's Open Desktop which is broken. What I would like you to do, regarding the Dolphin services is to check several services installation in details: install them via the GHNS dialog, look if some are installed and work, if others are not written as "installed" and don't appear then look if they are indeed installed locally. If so, it might be a bad entry in the .dektop file or something as trivial as this. Do all that with Dolphin started in a terminal with full debug. Check the debug for the ones not working. Concentrate on installation first before looking to uninstall. Using a test user would be good. Make a list of your findings, add the debug. We'll work from there. The more detailed and precise the problems are reported, the more likely we'll fix them.
I did that once with wallpapers in a previous release and contacted authors to have them fixing their upload to kde-look. I also added tar.bz2 support in GHNS at that time or something. Anne-Marie >> Visit http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-devel#unsub to unsubscribe <<
