Bug ID: 495428 Summary: Binary file download is broken for digikam >= 8.4.0 Classification: Applications Product: digikam Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: jescuderopedr...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY After the program is opened, digikam asks the user whether to download binary files associated to face recognition and auto-tagging. If the download fails, it asks the user whether to try again. However when a mirror is not working, the download just fails again, and digikam does not attempt to use a different mirror. As of today (2024-10-27), it happens when starting a fresh install of digikam from Spain, as it tries to use mirrors.up.pt, which is not responsive. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Attempt to start a fresh install of digikam from Spain. OBSERVED RESULT Binary file download fails. EXPECTED RESULT It should attempt to use a different mirror when the download fails. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 8.4.0 (AppImage) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Probably regional. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
