Thanks Phil, I'll say I tend to agree that I'd not do it that way myself
either, but rather that's what nvidia-settings spits out itself there, and does
tend to work.

That said, it not being correct in the eyes of kde, does that somehow
complicate plasma?  I'm new to nvidia binary drivers, coming from amd prior
where I was using just oss drivers and had all the same oddities with kde
plasma5, but they *were* fixed prior to switching to this new system.  I have
to trust nvidia is setting itself up how it wants as per xorg drivers, but
wouldn't surprise me if this complicates some upstream code.

I've tried deleting the xorg entirely too, which doesn't really change the
unstable nature of where the task bar and wallpapers shift to
