Bug ID: 487954 Summary: Custom tiling padding at 0 isn't 0 Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.0.5 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Custom Tiling Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: luis.bue...@server23.cc CC: notm...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 170083 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=170083&action=edit gaps between tiled windows in various different situations SUMMARY It seems with the update to 6.0 setting the custom tiling padding to 0 doesn't actually fully set it to 0, there is still a small (1px?) gap between windows and window borders are visible on monitor edges. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set custom tiling padding to 0 2. Tile windows into zones 3. Observe a tiny gap between two zones as well as window borders visible on screen edges OBSERVED RESULT Visible gap between windows when setting padding to 0 EXPECTED RESULT No gap between windows when setting padding to 0 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION See attached screenshot for examples. - Example 1 has a screen edge between the windows, the left window is snapped via *quick tiling* (moving window to screen edge to tile to half of the screen), the right window is tiled via custom tiling - Example 2 is identical to 1, but both windows are tiled using custom tiling (shift + mouse drag) -> now the left window also has a border which is visible around the screen edge (which creates a double window border from both windows) - Example 3 shows two windows tiled next to each other on one screen where a gap is visible (made more visible by a pure green image behind the two windows) This didn't use to be the case in Plasma 5.27 for me, so I guess some regression since then? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
