My proposal is the following: With a dedicated "as in dolphin" sort entry (when 466836 will be done), and if user enabled "keep dolphin order when opening" (when the current 443168 will be done), the sorting will switch to it, and in UI it will be selected. If user disabled "keep dolphin order when opening", then Gwenview will keep its original sorting mode. At any time you can select any mode manually, if you prefer disabled "keep dolphin order when opening". So what exactly are you arguing about?
