Bug ID: 471106 Summary: Implementation of Window stacking using Tabs for tiled layouts Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Custom Tiling Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: pos...@posteo.eu CC: notm...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Assuming a tiled layout of e.g. two windows. You open another window and place it on one of the tiles. The current implementation would simply place the 3rd window above on of the others, fully covering the one beneath. If you open a 4th window, you may end up having 3 windows stacked, but you can only see the one on the top. You may switch the windows using the task manager or the overview effect. However, another more convenient option for tiled layouts could be to put those windows into tabs.
