Doing «sudo apt-mark hold libjpeg-turbo8» doesn't prevent the mess from happening; pkcon exits with error and refuses to proceed, apt on the other hand would perform the update, only this time it did warn me about pkgs being removed. I then did «sudo apt-mark unhold libjpeg-turbo8» and both pkcon and apt would continue, but no warnings; nor from pkcon neither from apt.
