I understand that a reboot isn't technically necessary, and you can log out and
back in again. But a regular user doesn't understand this, and regular users
also often use auto-login where an explicit logout would confuse them.
So we recommend a reboot instead, and the status quo is intentional. :) Expert
users who understand the above can manually log out and back in again.
