Frederik Schwarzer <schwar...@kde.org> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |schwar...@kde.org --- Comment #1 from Frederik Schwarzer <schwar...@kde.org> --- Hi, from what I can see in the translation files, the strings you see untranslated are translated here. E.g. "Window Decoration" - translated in the PO file "Desktop Effects" - translated in the PO file "Screen Edges" - translated in the PO file "Virtual Desktops" - translated in several PO files I am using an older version of everything so I cannot check it in the UI but I suspect a different problem than missing translations. > I think you should one and for all find a solution to translate the whole > Desktop Translation (as most things) is an ongoing process. There is no "once and for all" solution. There are over 200000 Strings in the GUI and the websites (documentation comes extra) and since applications are evolving, new strings are added or existing strings are changed every day. The German translation has over 40000 untranslated strings in the GUI and Websites. So technically, missing translations are not a bug but a lack of contributions. ... Of course we try to have "the desktop" and core applications translated but even that is not always possible. No one in the German translation (probably in any translation) is paid for it. It is just a leisure time hobby if life permits it. Anyway, I digress. So maybe Arch is breaking translations or maybe KDE's release scripts are broken. Could you find a file named kcm_kwindecoration.mo in some path containing /de/ on your system and attach it to this report? Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
